Pilot Node

NFDI

Connecting German research data infrastructure to EOSC, integrating domain-specific services.
NFDI

The National Research Data Infrastructure (Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur, NFDI) is comprised of over 270 institutions, including science organisations, universities, higher education institutions, non-university research institutions, scientific societies, and associations. They are organised in 27 consortia whose vision is that data is a common good for excellent science. Sustainability and FAIRness are key factors when it comes to preserving data acquired over time by scientists through laborious and eventually costly efforts.

The NFDI node will bring services to NFDI’s scientists and their partners by means of a common entry point and authentication to federated services. The initial services will be selected due to their usefulness for the majority of scientists in the consortia and will drive the selection of further services from there. The node will first be integrating with the EOSC AAI and other core services (initially monitoring and helpdesk) before establishing a resource catalogue together with a corresponding marketplace that will be filled with curated service offers.
