Pilot Node

LifeWatch ERIC

Integrating metadata catalogue into EOSC, improving compatibility with EOSC Core.
LifeWatch

The LifeWatch ERIC pilot node will serve as an element in the federated infrastructure, contributing and leveraging a wide range of resources and services. It will provide extensive biodiversity and ecosystem data, integrating metadata catalogues that facilitate the discoverability of Digital Objects, and utilise IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) for decentralised and secure storage. It will incorporate LifeBlock to ensure advanced traceability of data and processes, guaranteeing the integrity and transparency necessary for scientific validation. It is integrated with EOSC AAI.

LifeWatch will provide tools for the automation and management of scientific workflows, enabling researchers to execute and share workflows across federated nodes. The node will implement advanced monitoring solutions and detailed accounting services to track resource usage and performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency. Additionally, it will offer an order management system that facilitates access to services and resources, accompanied by a dedicated helpdesk service to ensure timely assistance. Access to federated computational resources will be facilitated, and exchange mechanisms will be established to dynamically share computing and storage resources, thereby enhancing the overall capacity of the federation.
