D10.1 Online: Report on EOSC Integration Suite and Execution Framework Requirements and Gap Analysis v.1

The EOSC Beyond consortium is pleased to announce the publication of Deliverable D10.1, titled "Report on EOSC Integration Suite and Execution Framework Requirements and Gap Analysis v.1." This document outlines the initial requirements and gap analysis for two key components being developed within the project: the Integration Suite and the Execution Framework.
EOSC Beyond is exploring new technical capabilities to enhance scientific resource integration, automation, and interoperability in the future EOSC. These advancements aim to support researchers, developers, and service providers in creating and deploying data-driven tools and workflows more efficiently.
Key Highlights of the Deliverable:
- Integration Suite:
- A collection of software adapters designed to simplify integration with EOSC Core and EOSC Exchange services.
- Provides open and extensible software libraries for connecting applications, tools, services, and research data.
- Aligns with the EOSC Interoperability Framework (EOSC IF) Guidelines, promoting collaboration and interoperability across research communities.
- Execution Framework:
- A system for automating the composition and deployment of multi-supply resources, reducing the manual effort needed for scientific workflows.
- Uses TOSCA (Topology and Open Specification for Cloud Applications) templates, DevOps tools, and the EOSC IF to enable automated provisioning and configuration of services and infrastructure.
- An enhanced IF Registry supports interoperability-driven discovery, offering both human-readable and machine-composable guidelines.
Together, the Integration Suite and Execution Framework aim to improve the provision, automation, and interoperability of scientific resources within the EOSC Federation. By simplifying the process of resource composition and deployment, these components will help accelerate scientific discovery and foster collaboration among researchers.
D10.1 provides a detailed analysis of the requirements and gaps identified during the early stages of developing these components, laying the groundwork for their implementation and future improvements.
